WTAE names new GM

WTAE-TV (4) has announced their new General Manager. Michael Hayes comes to Pittsburgh from sister station WYFF-TV in South Carolina where he held a similar position. Hayes started as a sportscaster at WISH-TV in Indianapolis. He held that and an account executive position at WMBD-TV in Peoria, IL. From there he went on to sales and management in St. Louis and Austin, TX. He was general sales manager at WZZM-TV in Grand Rapids which was owned by Argyle Television which later merged with Hearst. He moved on to WLWT in Cincinnati before being promoted to WYFF. Hayes’ promotion to WTAE is effective immediately.
