It was 38 years ago on January 7th of 1973 when Erie would get its first ever Public radio station. WQLN 91.3 FM would sign for the first time ever and give Erie a new diverse voice on the radio dial. The station would broadcast from studios at Mercyhurst College and what was known then as Edinboro State College. WQLN would introduce listeners to great voices like Tom McLaren and Paul Brown and bring some variety with shows like “All That Jazz” and “Bluegrass Session.” Today, the station is 24 hours with News and other programming from NPR as well as Classical music with Wally Faas and Jazz music from several loyal volunteers including Bill Garts, Aubrey Dillon and Al Lebejewski.
