WQEX to Ion Networks

The paper work was filed on Friday for the sale of WQEX-TV (16) to Ion Networks for $3 million. The station has been on and off the market since 1997. That was the year WQED started simulcasting it’s Channel 13 programming on 16. After several unsuccesful attempts at sales, the station switched to a commercial license and started airing various home shopping networks.
