WQED Summer of Learning offers new material this week

Today begins a new week of WQED Education’s Summer of Learning.  WQED (13) provides valuable educational programming on its main channel for early learners and on the WQED World Channel for grades 6-12.

Younger viewers might enjoy the various crafts which accompany programming with familiar TV friends like Peg + Cat, Daniel Tiger, and Wild Kratts.

For older youth in grades 6-12 WQED At Home Learning programs start a new curriculum this week. The programming will air Monday through Friday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and feature science, history and other educational programming.

This At Home Learning block — suited to WORLD’s everyday schedule of news, information and documentary programming — has been carefully curated and supplemented with related assets from PBS LearningMedia, a free online service of thousands of compelling educational resources available on WQED’s Education web page.

WQED WORLD Channel is broadcast over-the-air on channel 13.3 and is available on Verizon FiOS, Armstrong Cable and Consolidated Cable in the Pittsburgh viewing area. While WORLD At Home Learning programs are geared to middle and high school students, 24/7 PBS Kids service and daytime on WQED’s main channel target children in primary-school grades.
