WQED Master Control down
January 29, 2022A statement released on Facebook from WQED Pittsburgh on Saturday states that programming on the local public TV station will not appear as scheduled.
“WQED-TV’s central control equipment system, which gives us the ability to switch on air between PBS and local programming, has failed. Viewers will continue to see favorite PBS shows, but at this time our locally-produced programming will not be available.”
The timing is unfortunate as the station is one month away from replacing their 16-year old master control but a critical piece within the system failed. The installation of the new equipment will be expedited as best as possible.
