WMBS Celebrating 75 Years

During the month of July, WMBS Uniontown (590 AM) will celebrate their 75 anniversary on the air. According to the Uniontown Herald Standard, the station will celebrate with a community picnic and listener appreciation event at the station on July 14. Current and former staff members will be on hand and there will be complimentary food and a chance to win prizes.

WMBS holds a distinction that is very rare for a station. It has remained under the same ownership for all of its years although the principal shareholders have changed over time.
