Willie is back… just over the border
September 27, 2022Forever Media Pittsburgh took the “Willie” classic country format off 103.5 in August. The format is back as “Big Willie” on Bethlehem, WV-licensed WBGI (105.5). The station touts the “greatest country hits of the 80s, 90s, and more.
Since August 1, 103.5 went back to it’s WOGH calls and distinction as a “Froggy” outlet. Though it has been licensed to Burgettstown, PA since the early 2000s, it still sends its waves from Altamont Hill in Steubenville – the home of WTOV-TV (9).
I remember 103.5 when it was Rocky 103, WRKY and played a mixed bag of old and new rock. I didn’t like it as much since it was automated, by one plain voice all the time. It was before people were used to automation on radio stations, so it wasn’t cool.
Hey, I like the new look on the site, and I think this theme loads faster than the older one too. I know, change it to all text like the Voy forums radio site you covered. I’ve checked Voy a few times since the mention, and it’s not much action there.
