WDVE hits highest share
July 11, 2020Nielsen Audio Ratings for Pittsburgh (DMA #28) were released Thursday with WDVE (102.5) showing it’s highest share ever at 10.9. Inside Radio discusses the top numbers including classic hits WWSW (94.5) falling about a point below sister DVE; WRRK (96.9) in third; and KDKA (1020) and WESA (90.5) in a tie at fourth. KD shows a steady decline since April when it had a 7.3 likely due to coverage of the Coronavirus which was still in its early stages at the time.
Also scoring in the June Book are WBZZ-FM-HD3 (1.1) which plays WAMO’s (660) former urban format which is also translated over W261AX (100.1 FM) and WWSW-FM HD2 (0.3) which plays the oldies the full power FM (and its AM sister on 970) played.
Question: Mark Madden always comments that he’s either number 1 or 2 in his time slot. How do you know the ratings for specific day parts?
You don’t unless you’re at a subscribing station or ad agency.
They actually scored an 11.3 in the summer of 1991 and an 11.7 in the fall becoming the first station to ever beat KDKA. It even made the front page of the Post-Gazette.
