WCCS to become ESPN outlet
August 22, 2012Renda Broadcasting announced today that the Fox Sports affiliation on WCCS-AM (1160 Indiana) will be dropped on September 1 in favor of ESPN Radio. The company will also move the cluster’s Pittsburgh Steelers Radio Network broadcast from sister WQMU-FM (92.5) to the new sports outlet while adding the Pittsburgh Panthers Radio Network. The affiliation will be part-time beginning at 6:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. during the week. The majority of weekend airtime will be devoted to ESPN.
The Pittsburgh Pirates will retain their position on the station as will high school football and basketball.

WCCS-AM has also signed on as a new affiliate of the Pitt IMG Sports Network, and will begin carrying University of Pittsburgh programming starting on Wed 8/29 with the inaugural Paul Chryst Show, and be on board for all Football, Men’s Basketball, and Jamie Dixon Show broadcasts throughout the 2012-13 athletic season!!!
