WAVL sold; deal pending FCC approval
August 16, 2013Assuming the FCC approves, Evangel Heights Assembly of God is selling WAVL-AM (910 Apollo) to Family Life Media Com, Inc. Family Life owns and operates Kittanning’s WTYM (1380). The format has already flipped from conservative talk to a mix of Christian music and various ministry programs, but the stations are not simulcast. An agreement within a letter of intent to purchase does not allow for either party to discuss the transaction publicly.
Eric – I LOL-ed when I read “Assuming the FCC approves (the sale of WAVL)” – for a long time now that never has been a real problem or a serious issue – FCC just rubber stamps everything anymore anyway… what a useless agency.
Regardless, there is still that time between the official announcement of the sale and the rubber stamping process. Hence the reason we always mention it.
