Voy Forum about Pittsburgh Media is back

July 11, 2022 Off By Eric O'Brien

The Voy Forum is a long-lasting “message board” covering a wide variety of topics from A to Z. The best one known among those – at least for those in our little world – was the Pittsburgh TV-Radio Discussion Forum. It was active just about every minute of the day! Then, one day in 2019, it came to an abrupt halt. Why?

The fact is that forum was very carefully – meticulously – monitored by its owner. If you posted to the forum it HAD to be reviewed and approved. (This is a practice I understand and one reason why this site and the corresponding Facebook page does not allow just anyone to post to their respective platforms.)

My co-workers at the station were frequent readers of the site and would often ask me if I ever knew WHO ran the forum. I assured them that I didn’t know and never really attempted to figure it out. I will say that eventually we figured out the abrupt end was due to a death, although we couldn’t prove it.

We figured that was the end.

That is until I received this message at 3:20 this afternoon. (Edited for publication.)

Under new ownership, the Pittsburgh Media Voy Forum has been resurrected.

This one will cover all in one – radio, TV, paper and online.

Please pass the word…

Thanks!

So it seems like someone wants the same anonymity as the late Mr./Ms. X did. (Please note the previous owner remains anonymous at the request of the new page out of respect for that person. If you know who it was, please keep it to yourself.)

Can we get the discussion rolling again?
