Voices and faces moving around

Monday was a big day for people to announce their “next” phase. We, of course, heard that Mike Lange was retiring but there are a couple of others making moves.

Russ “Whip” Rose announced that he is scaling back at iHeartMedia Pittsburgh. He has been on WXDX (105.9) for 26 years and has decided to step back from The X to put more energy into a business – Autoality – he co-owns with others. Rose will remain at iHeart’s WDVE (102.5) on weekday evenings.

Meanwhile at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul, former WTAE-TV anchor, Jackie Cain tells viewers that she has decided to hang up the IFB to live a slower life. Cain has been in Minneapolis for a few years but it has been a long-distance marriage with her husband, Alex who remains in Pittsburgh for his job. She also made mention of her father’s stroke in June. While he is recovering and getting better each day, Cain said she needs to be with him – life is too short not to do so. Her last day is next week.
