The results of the PBRTV Poll

November 15, 2024 Off By Eric O'Brien

As time has allowed I have been reading through the PBRTV Poll to which 89 of you took the time to respond. A few people were a bit on the snarky side, and while you may have thought you were being cute, the joke’s on you… I didn’t throw any of the surveys away. So consider your snark recorded!

I would like to read through the 89 surveys more in depth, but things are about where I guessed it would be. For instance, the majority of viewers on this site are: Male Baby Boomers who are Politically Moderate! Okay, well not exactly. Those were the biggest statistical results of the 89 responses: 87.6% Male; 46.1% Baby Boomers; 34.8% Politically Moderate.

Why did I ask about your politics when I don’t allow it to be discussed on this website? Well I asked for your age and gender too and we don’t talk about those! The truth is, I asked in fun because it was the election season. On the more serious side, however, I wanted to measure my target audience… no different than asking your age range or gender.

The main reason you’ve come to PBRTV over the years is for a combination of current and historical info on the business. 75.3% of you chose that option. 23.6% of you found us through Dave’s original DCRTV site.

If you’re interested in seeing the complete data, please email me (info@pbrtv.com) and I will share an edited (removing names and emails) spreadsheet back to you.

I have to admit, my only true disappointment is the lack of interest in the merchandise. This is the only one I will share here…

I guess I can be grateful that 7.9% (that’s only 7 of 89) have purchased things over the last couple of years. For the record, over 26 years I’ve only asked for any sort of financial support a few times. I’m not trying to make money at this as all proceeds go to maintaining the site. But you can get some cool (and very comfortable) apparel to wear. And you can be the ones being asked “Why is there a website about Pabst Blue Ribbon?” The merch won’t be going away… after all it costs nothing to create it… therefore more options soon! So if you ever come into a fortune… please consider a purchase or two.

Again, I promise to read more of the comments as time allows (89 is a lot!) and will take each one to heart. Some of the ones that have stuck out, however, include some “mini voting polls” similar to this one. I like it! Another suggestion that came through was about updating the “Where Are They Now?” page. While I like that suggestion, I must admit once we lose track, there’s little that can be done. So that page might have to be retired.

One other suggestion was to expand back out and cover the surrounding markets again. As I said in another recent post, I will soon be pulling the surrounding market pages down to work on them extensively and will reintroduce them as time allows.

Anyway, I’ll have more to say and to present as I sort through the results. But for now, thanks again to all who participated!
