Shovlin out at WSHH
July 6, 2015Chris Shovlin’s photos and bios have been removed from the WSHH (99.7) website and his listing as Promotions Manager has also been removed. That usually means a staffer has left a station and one suspects it was not Shovlin’s choice. But we don’t have a firm report on who made the decision. Shovlin has spent 20+ years at Renda Broadcasting serving in the promotions role as well as news and sports on WSHH and former sister WJAS (1320). Most recently, he hosted the PM Drive on WJAS and when the station was sold in 2014 he transitioned to the morning show on WSHH with Cris Winter. Winter continues to host the show solo for now.
Shovlin also does play-by-play announcing for Comcast and Robert Morris University.
I WONDER HOW LONG IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN FOR THEM TO FIRE ME
GLAD I QUIT BACK IN 2000. I AM AHEAD OF MY TIME.
You always were ahead of your time, Jack! Good to hear from you.
would the last person to leave 900 parrish st please turn off the light!
Unfortunately this is fairly typical of the way Renda operates. Keep costs as low as possible at all times. They pushed out Dan Dunlap after 20+ years also.
Vic, let’s be fair. Renda Broadcasting is not the only company that subscribes to this theory. Many (not all) broadcast companies practice this way. Come to think of it, many companies operate this way in general.
Yeah, and how is that new format panning out at 1320 anyway? The market has, what, 3, 4 conservative talk stations, all on AM stations with shaky reception. No guts, no glory, Pittsburgh radio.
Why doesn’t Renda Broadcasting sell the station and get it over with! How about WHJB in Greensburg too!
