Sheri Van Dyke out at WWSW
November 6, 2020And it seems another one bites the dust. Blaming the pandemic, Sheri Van Dyke is out at WWSW (94.5) after three decades. Van Dyke posted to her Facebook page this morning:
…after 30 years & 7 months at 3WS, I leave the airwaves; well, except for that little bit you may hear every so often between songs. This pandemic has claimed another job, mine. I’m hoping it’s an adventure in a good way; a little break to spend some time with Mom & Pop & my sis & inlaws. But it’s damn scary. First time for me. I hope to face it with humor and determination.. and maybe a margarita or two! Thanks for all those who listened.. and called.. and messaged.
I used to love hearing Sheri Van Dyke on 3WS whenever I was younger. She was one of their best disc jockeys ever.
What a shame. Sheri gave so much to that station. Thank you Sheri and good luck in what you choose to do next.
Sherri Van Dyke, was always the “voice” of 3WS. She was good. No, she was great. She always fit the format, and sounded fantastic in that format. There is good and bad in every on-air person, and Sherri was rock solid good. Radio is a sinking ship, and these corporate conglomerates, (in this case, NO HEART RADIO), is taking on water badly. I think it’s the main reason they’re cutting jobs at every turn, to save another salary. Well, without jocks, what do you have? A mix-tape with commercials, Thanks, but no thanks. If it weren’t for the fact that I listen to Limbaugh, I could remove the NO HEART app off of my phone.
I turned the radio on today and have just discovered that Sheri was no longer on. I am utterly saddened by this. I wish her nothing but the best. She deserves it!
This is just wrong. Sheri was great! Not like her job was eliminated – Tall Kathy is in her spot now.
Sheri just probably made more $$.
They let Sheri go, but Randy Baumann is still on the radio?? Yeah, that makes total sense…
