Rose Ryan Douglas has announced retirement
January 13, 2021About two months after Joe DeStio announced his retirement, Rose Ryan Douglas has done likewise. Her last day with KDKA Radio will be February 26. She has been at KDKA since 2002. Before her 45 years in the broadcast industry, Rose graduated from Valley High School in New Kensington and went to Clarion State College (now University) and soon worked on air at WKPA (1150) and WYDD (104.7) in New Kensington.
She then spent a year each at WFFM (96.9) and 96KX (96.1) before moving over to WWSW (94.5 and 970) where she anchored the morning News for nearly 20 years. Her husband, Tab Douglas did sports reports along side her at 3-W-S.
I worked with Rose a long, long time ago at WFFM back in 1980 (I believe). Before the Douglas. Best of luck to you!
Rose Ryan Douglas is a fantastic radio personality. I used to listen to her on both 3WS and KDKA Radio over the years.
