“Rockin” Ron Chavis has died
October 9, 2021PBRTV has heard that Pittsburgh native Ron Chavis, also known as “Rockin Ron”, has died. Very little is known about the cause of death at this time. Chavis, most recently known for his voice work, spent many years on the air in the PIttsburgh region mainly at WAMO-FM (105.9). He had also been heard on WYDD (104.7) and even WLSW (103.9 Scottdale) and WEDO (810 McKeesport).
More as we hear it.

Ron and I attended elementary school together in Liberty Boro. He and I were both in the same grade and we would always be getting into trouble in the lunch room for chasing each around the tables. It’s funny how we started out as kids and neither of us knew that each of us had a desire to get into broadcasting until one day when we were all grown up and we said – “He weren’t you the kid I got into trouble with at Liberty Way Elementary in the lunch room?” RIP Brother Ron
