Remembering Ron Dylewski
October 6, 2022Listeners to the occasional PBRTV Podcast may recall the May 2020 episode with Barbara Ley. Ms. Ley reports to us of the sudden death of her husband of 33 years, Ron Dylewski, on September 12. He was 68.
Mr. Dylewski came to Pittsburgh in 1982 having been hired by his not-yet-wife as the Audience Promotion Manager for KDKA-TV (2). Together the couple created the long-lasting “KD and You” campaign. They eventually left KD and began their own business, Renaissance Productions, a creative services and production agency where the client list included local stations WPXI-TV (11) and WTAE-AM (1250). Later Dylewski moved on to work for PMI, Inc. and Brabender Cox and won many awards for his creations. Most recently, Ron was at WPGH-TV (53) where was the Creative Brand and Production Manager.
PBRTV extends condolences to Barbara and family.

This is very sad news. I worked with Ron for a brief time at WUHF-TV in Rochester when it signed on for Malrite. Ron was very smart, kept things light and helped me through my very nervous stage being a potential new TV star. Great minds like his don’t come around much.
