Remembering Mike Boguslawski
March 15, 2019In the early 1990s, WPXI-TV (11) had consumer reporter Mike Boguslawski whose presentation style often turned people off. “Bogey” had a trademark line at the end of his reports where it sounded like he was yelling while pointing a finger at the camera, “I’m Mike Boguslawski and I’m in YOUR corner!” Of course he wasn’t yelling so much as he was being emphatic.
Boguslawski died this week at a hospital in Bristol, Connecticut at the age of 78 after he had been dealing with several ailments. He had several stops around the country but he is best remembered by the station where he worked in the 1970s and 80s – WTNH.
Despite the dramatic and sometimes wacky reports, Bogey was always looking out for the consumer. When asked how he wished to be remembered by the viewers, he said, “That I care about them. That I love them. And I always will.”
Great guy. Loyal listener to WKPA when I was the manager there. He will be missed.
