Radio Dhoom Returns…Technical Issues Cited
February 19, 2025
After almost a month of silence, South Asian formatted WMNY (AM 1150) has returned to the air.
The station, licensed to New Kensington, was first reported silent January 21st. PBRTV.com reached out through the station’s Facebook page on February 1st after noting that the station was still dark.
A representative of the station replied yesterday, stating they were having “some technical issues which are in the process of being resolved,” and that “it should be up anytime.”
Today, we received a reply stating that “the station is back up and running.” PBRTV.com did an aural confirmation later that the station was indeed back on the air.
Though the over-the-air signal was truncated, the station still webcasted its audio through its own mobile app during the downtime.
The station closed its local offices on Seventh Street in New Kensington some time ago, and produces its content through an off-site location.
