Oxenreiter still recovering

The other day, Rob Owen at The Trib received a query about WPXI sports anchor Alby Oxenreiter. Oxenreiter had open heart surgery last July and hasn’t been on the air since.

The writer asked if the sports anchor decided to retire early as a result of the procedure. Frankly, we had been wondering the same thing recently.

Owen said Oxenreiter is grateful for the concern and is still working through some “lingering issues”, but notes he has made progress. His recovery is his top priority at this point.
