Morning lineup change at Channel 2

KDKA-TV (2) morning anchor Heather Abraham announced this morning that she is stepping away from the anchor desk. She won’t be going far.

“For nearly 12 years, my alarm has buzzed at 2:15 a.m. It’s always been that quirky thing about this job that shocks everyone. It still shocks me to be quite honest,” she said.

Abraham has grown from a reporter in the field, to filling in on traffic, and then at the anchor desk. But she made the difficult decision with the blessing of her KDKA bosses. Instead she will expand her role on Pittsburgh Today Live (“PTL”) and she will still contribute to the morning news with reports for which she says, “fun stuff is planned”.

“Setting my alarm to 5:00 a.m. seems like a dream after all these years,” she said.

Lindsay Ward will take Abraham’s role at the anchor desk next to David Highfield.
