Mary Robb Jackson retiring at year’s end
December 17, 2014December 31 will be the last day we see Mary Robb Jackson on the local airwaves before she retires. The KDKA-TV reporter is calling it a day after nearly 40 years in the local market. Jackson started at WIIC-TV (Channel 11) and spent five years there before jumping over to KDKA (2) in 1980. She has served as a weekend anchor, field reporter, and was a host on “Evening Magazine” throughout the 35 years at KD. She is a breast cancer and uterine cancer survivor having fought them in 1996 and 2000 respectively. She is married to Michael Challik, chief photographer at KDKA, and it’s expected that she won’t become a stranger at the station.
