Laurence Gaines dies

PBRTV has received word that Laurence Gaines passed away earlier this week. Gaines, of course, spent many years at WTAE Radio (1250) most notably producing Doug Hoerth’s program. Gaines apparently suffered a stroke a few months back and recently returned to work. Lynn Cullen has spent a good portion of her program today remembering Gaines. His latest position was as executive producer of the Bev Smith Show which comes from Sheridan Broadcasting here in Pittsburgh. Smith released a statement through radiofacts.com.
