KDKA to start “Talk Pittsburgh”

With “Dr. Phil” leaving the airwaves next week, KDKA-TV (2) has announced the launch of a new program debuting at 3:00 p.m. March 20. “Talk Pittsburgh” is slated to be a non-traditional talk show and the first of its kind in Pittsburgh. The intent of the program is a more in-depth look at news stories affecting our region. The program will air Monday through Friday from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. prior to KDKA’s 3 hour evening news block. It will air on KDKA-TV and CBS News Pittsburgh.
The hour-long feature will be hosted by Pittsburgh Today Live co-host, Heather Abraham, who left the morning news co-anchor seat in late 2022 to focus on this new project.
So…..KDKA-TV is starting-up this talk show and KD radio has found a cheap way to fill the hour by tapping into the audio feed. Not exactly new in the marketplace as WESA has done similar things for some time. If they want a non-traditional talk show they’ll need to clone Doug Hoerth.
