KDKA-AM on-air changes

Well, it looks as though reporter Adam Kirk was the only air personaility let go from KDKA-AM (1020) when CBS trimmed staff members locally and nationally earlier this week. The station is also cutting local news broadcasts in the evening. Instead of ending local news at 11:00 p.m., it will now end at 8:00.. CBS National newscasts will take the place of those later evening hours. Meanwhile local talk will continue into the evening.

One show which won’t be continuing will be “The Doctor Knowledge Show” Charles Reichblum (AKA “Dr. Knowledge) is ending his show after the December 29 broadcast to focus time on research for a new book he is writing. Reichblum will continue to produce “Dr. Knowledge in a Nutshell” – a daily feature which airs during the 3:00 p.m. hour. No word on what will replace the weekend overnight show.
