In Memoriam: Wes Minter
April 20, 2017Occasional fill-in KDKA talk host Wes Minter passed away April 18 of an apparent heart attack. He was 63. Minter worked in two industries over the years. He was a corporate sales executive most recently working locally at Waste Management. Minter not only filled in at KDKA (1020) but has worked at WSB Atlanta, WCCO Minneapolis, WHIO Dayton, and KRMG Tulsa. Memorials can be made to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh or Wounded Warrior Project.

I remember Wes from WSB and before that at WAFS in Atlanta. He was a great and entertaining host. In 1992, Cox moved him from WSB to WHIO in Dayton as it was about to be announced that Neal Boortz was moving from WGST to WSB. Some speculation was that Boortz insisted on the move so he would be the main talk host at WSB.
