In Memoriam: Doug Sutherland
May 1, 2017We are hearing that Doug Sutherland has passed away. Sutherland held a brief stop in Pittsburgh in the late 1970s at WFFM (96.9 Braddock) where he co-hosted “Morning Magazine” with Sharon Kennedy. Sutherland submitted his resignation in mid-1980. That led to Kennedy and mid-day host George Hart being let go as management decided to make programming changes. Sutherland moved on to WABC in New York from WFFM. He worked at various other stations as “Doug Cornet”. He was also “Rabbit” having written and recorded Rabbit Tracks a daily, 2-minute feature for Northern Broadcasting System which aired on 200 stations in the west. He also wrote a syndicated, satirical newspaper column called Minister of Reality.

(440 Satisfaction)
Doug was one of the most interesting and pleasant Renaissance men I ever got to know. I was at Fm97 (WFFM) with him, Sharon and George Hart in ’79 and ’80. RIP.
Wasn’t he also briefly with WTAE as well?
Possibly, but no mention of it on his 440 Satisfaction page.
