Imus off for two weeks
April 10, 2007
Don Imus won’t be returning to WURP (1550) next week after all. He’s been suspended from both CBS Radio and his MSNBC televised simulcast for two weeks after making racially- and sexually-disparaging remarks about the Rutgers’ women’s basketball team. The curmudgeonly morning man has apologized, but didn’t seem all that apologetic in an appearance with activist Rev. Al Sharpton — at one point off the air calling Sharpton’s comments “bulls—,” according to the New York Daily News. Imus has become so politically well-connected that industry analysts say he’s unlikely to be fired.
