The Tribune-Review is reporting that Steelers radio announcer and University of Pittsburgh sports radio announcer Bill Hillgrove has been charged with drunken driving. Hillgrove, 79, received a DUI charge after crashing into Ferri’s Shure Save Supermarket on old William Penn highway Monday afternoon. Reports say he broke two windows in the building. A witness told officials that he noticed Hillgrove weaving on the sidewalk as he got out of out of his vehicle apparently going into the store for a prescription. Police went to Hillgrove’s Murrysville home and after some questioning and a breathalyzer test determined that his blood alcohol level was at least twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania. Hillgrove told police he just had a couple of beers at a nearby bar and that the car got away from him. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 11.
