Harold Hayes to retire Friday
April 27, 201636-year KDKA-TV veteran Harold Hayes is set to retire this Friday. KD-TV’s vice president and general manager, Christopher Pike tells the Post-Gazette about Hayes, “Harold is a consummate professional defined by his integrity, fairness and accuracy. It will be impossible to replace his institutional knowledge, historic perspective and community relationships, not to mention his great sense of humor.”
The 63-year-old Hayes will receive the Press Club’s President’s Award for Lifetime Achievement at the May 12 Golden Quill banquet. Last week he received a proclamation from city council.
