Group applies for license for Kittanning station

Anne Cloonan of the Kittanning Leader-Times* reported this morning that a new board of directors for Family-Life Media-Com, Inc. applied for transfer of control for WTYM (1380 Kittanning). The board is made up of three members who also serve as the board of Family-Life Church. The application was accepted by the FCC earlier in March and includes FM translator W279DN at 103.7 FM.

Croyle resigned from the board after his felony conviction which is not considered to be final as an appeal is expected. The FCC does not allow convicted felons to own broadcast licenses.

Nothing is known about what will happen to Family Life TV the company’s low power TV station, or The Kittanning Paper.

Meanwhile, a report from Saxonburg Radio says that Croyle’s sentencing, which had been scheduled for last Friday, has been rescheduled for April 30. Croyle was convicted in January and resigned his town council seat the next month.
