Giangreco exits WTAE; new Y108 morning show

It seems all the younger reporters want out of television pretty quickly these days. Emily Giangreco was hired as a sports anchor at WTAE-TV in 2022, but had her final day there as well as in the television business on Wednesday. Although it’s not clear as to what the reason for the departure is, she told The Trib’s Rob Owen that she is not at liberty to discuss the departure, nor does she want to. But her post on the social media outlet once known as Twitter might be a clue.

Meanwhile, back at Audacy, the newest WDSY (107.9) morning team has been in place about a week now. Cale Berger and Amanda Gorecki are a “homegrown” team heard weekdays from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. Both have worked in various roles at the company since 2017. Berger will continue to cover football and men’s basketball on the Pitt Panthers Radio Network in addition to his new role.
