Garris to depart WTAE; Taylor moves into anchor role at KDKA-TV

WTAE-TV (4; DT 27) weekend anchor Tom Garris has announced his departure from the station on July 24 of this year. For Garris this will be a continuation of a tour through Hearst-owned stations. Before coming to WTAE he had worked at WPTZ and WNNE in the Plattsburgh, New York/Burlington Vermont market. Now he’s heading back to New England Where he will be at Manchester, New Hampshire licensed WMUR-TV.


Over at the CBS- O&O KDKA-TV (2; DT 25) Josh Taylor has been a sports anchor since 2015. He has also been the air at the Audacy-owned KDKA-FM (93.7). Although he announced Friday that he will be back at the FM to fill in for someone later this month, his role is changing at the TV station. Beginning Tuesday, one will find Taylor sitting at the anchor desk, although we have yet to learn what newscast in particular. He will continue to contribute to the sports department for the time being.
