Frye and WTAE part ways

As it is sweeps month, it’s a rare occasion when a mainstay isn’t there. That’s the case at WTAE (4) where Kelly Frye is now missing during the weekday mornings. Rob Owen at the Trib found out this morning that Frye will not be returning. The station released a statement saying, “After consideration and discussion over her next contract, Kelly Frey is leaving WTAE Channel 4. Kelly has been an important part of our family and success over the last 21 years. We wish Kelly and her family all the best.”

No word on replacements.

Frye publicly battled breast cancer a few years ago, and she has also talked about raising her son who lives with Epilepsy and Dandy Walker Syndrome.
