Follow-up: Committee reviews FCC procedure on Audacy situation

The “ink” had barely dried before I heard from a source who said the last post was nothing more than a story about “the right wing using this as fear mongering ahead of the election.”

To be honest, as I was writing the story, I was actually asking myself if this was legit as the majority of the outlets carrying the story tended to lean conservative.

As I mentioned previously, 94-year-old George Soros does lean “left” on the political spectrum which doesn’t sit well with conservatives who are concerned that Soros’ financing of “organizations advocating for speech restrictions and censorship of conservatives online” will do the same once he becomes the major shareholder of Audacy should the FCC approve the transfer.

What I also mentioned previously is the FCC had approved the transfer. According to my source, as well as this Radio Ink article, such a vote (apparently, behind closed doors; along party lines with the result being 3-2, Democrat over Republican) has yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee is investigating the FCC to see if the claim the commission has the deal on the fast track is, in fact, true.

Meanwhile, I’ll just go back to waiting for several sources on both sides of the great political divide report the actual story…. sigh…
