Facebook pushes buttons…
June 7, 2024Good morning,
While I am not one who typically gets worked up about such things, the way this happened, the timing of the message I received, and the way my body was behaving made for the perfect storm for me to be mildly, yet seriously cheesed off, but not terribly surprised!
Yesterday I received a message from Facebook saying they had removed one of my posts stating, “It looks like you tried to get likes, follows, shares or video views in a misleading way.”
Excuse me, I need to cough…. *BULLSH!+”
Meanwhile, instead of telling me what was wrong with the post and how it differed from all the others, I was told I could “appeal” the situation. I clicked on it and should have a “decision” in “a few days”.
Now, what I will not do is claim this is an infringement on my freedom of speech nor that they are trying to stifle me in anyway. I highly doubt this was decided by a human being with poor judgement… and I doubt the “appeal” will be reviewed by a living being as well.
What I will encourage readers to do is not to rely on this free social media app to get information from PBRTV. Instead, I would encourage you to go to the website, and at the bottom, right hand corner of the front page, enter your email address and hit subscribe! Our posts will come directly to your email box and you can interact with us there just the same.
This is NOT to say that PBRTV will not continue to have a presence on social media… at least for the time being. This was a “first offense.” But I have followed enough pages to know it can happen time and time again without any rhyme or reason.
Let’s prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Very truly,

You have every reason to be so agitated. As I mentioned earlier elsewhere, I’m not sure how the algorithms affect my postings … but some items get better play than others. Keep fighting your good fight, Eric.
I clicked on your website and went to the bottom right corner and didn’t see anything where I could receive emails from your site, thanks
It was there… but now you can’t miss it!
YouTube does that too, and their communications try to shame you, like you weren’t being responsible or used poor judgement. YouTube will even have you take a video course on the supposed infraction, like we’re back in school again, and it even had colorful kid-like graphics, though to be fair, more of their users are probably young. Definitely with big companies like that it’s well designed social science at work.
Maybe it’s time for a Social Media Team, Eric. Most celebrities have a lieutenant handle the grunt work on their channels, while you just make posts and content.

Try posting “TRUMP SUCKS!” at the bottom of every post in 36 point type. Betcha never get censored again.
Ha! I’m not so sure I want to chance losing half my audience though!
