Delano to retire next week

After 30 years, Pittsburgh’s longest-serving TV political analyst, Jon Delano, will retire from KDKA-TV. Delano joined the station in 1994 during the Pennsylvania gubernatorial and U.S. Senate race to provide analysis. He was named Money and Politics Editor in 2001. He has also done extensive work in the Public Affairs department – in particular as producer/host of “Sunday Business Page”.

In addition to KDKA, Mr. Delano has also appeared on CBS Network programming with his expertise. But he has also earned the respect of office holders including presidents, vice-presidents, senators, and congressman from both major parties through the interviews he has performed with them – some multiple times. He has received numerous awards for his work including an Edward R. Murrow Award for hard news reporting.

Though he may appear occasionally to provide political analysis and interviews, Delano’s official last day on the air is Monday, November 25 where KDKA will have on-air congratulations during the 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. newscasts.
