Dee Thompson dies

If it happened in the middle of the night and WPXI was on scene, chances are Dee Thompson was there as well covering the story. Mr. Thompson, whose first name was DeHaven, has died at age 84, according to Channel 11 from where he retired in 2009.

Thompson started out in sports reporting in 1974 when the station was still WIIC, but later moved to general assignment reports.

He is survived by two daughters and two grandchildren.
