Cumulus’ new Sports SVP has Pittsburgh connection
December 16, 2014Talkers.com reported Monday that Bruce Gilbert has been named SVP of Sports at Cumulus Media after exiting a similar position at iHeartMedia. Gilbert will lead the development and execution of all sports content initiatives as well as have oversight of the direction of the company’s sports stations. Gilbert has a connection to Pittsburgh as he worked at WTAE (1250) and WVTY (96.1) under the Hearst ownership where, among other things, he was Myron Cope’s producer.
Don’t forget, he was also program director for what was then known as “Variety 96”. He was one of the youngest PD’s in the country at the time.
