KDKA-FM (93.7) morning co-host Jim Colony is retiring from his full-time duties as a host and reporter for the station known as “The Fan”. Although he won’t be hanging up his headphones permanently, the 66-year-old will end his regular gig on Friday. He will remain as a fill-in host for his co-hosts Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack, and will continue to contribute to the station’s online presence.

Colony started on radio in New England and eventually made his way to Pittsburgh in 1991 when he started at WTAE (1250) which was the flagship station for the Steelers and Pitt. Eventually he became the station’s drive-time sports anchor during its ESPN Radio days. When he was let go in 2009 it made him available when “The Fan” went on the air in 2010.
