Bells are ringing…

Wendy Bell fans are likely celebrating the return to the airwaves of the controversial conservative talk host. Broadcasting from an undisclosed location in Western Pennsylvania, Engineer and Central PA station owner, Matt Lightner, has given Bell and former KDKA producer, Brock Schneider, an on-air home from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on WRTA (1240/W253CJ 98.5 Altoona). The plan is to syndicate the program from WRTA and there are unconfirmed reports that a station in the Winchester, VA area has picked up the program which began on September 7.

Following a well-known release from WTAE-TV in 2016, Bell eventually landed at KDKA-AM (1020) where she did afternoon drive. She was fired from that position in 2020. A short stint at conservative talk station WJAS (1320/W256DE 99.1) earlier this year ended when St. Barnabas Broadcasting reportedly wanted to enter into an agreement to operate the Wendy Bell “brand”. Not coincidentally, the same held true for a show hosted by Rose Somma-Tennant which ended on WJAS within days of Bell’s program.
