Beaver County Radio Stations to Relocate

Beaver County’s two AM radio stations and their translators will be moving into new digs next month.

William V. Day, President of St. Barnabas Broadcasting, announced Friday on the stations that WMBA and WBVP will move from their longtime home in downtown Beaver Falls to a new facility in Brighton Township.

The stations will move to the former Michael Baker building at 4301 Dutch Ridge Road, which will bring them closer to Beaver borough, Beaver County’s seat. A grand opening celebration is slated at the new site for Saturday, June 17th.

St. Barnabas purchased the Michael Baker building in 2018.

WBVP – along with former FM sister station WWKS (now WAOB) – had been at the present location at 1316 Seventh Avenue in Beaver Falls since the 1970s. After then-owner Frank Iorio purchased Ambridge-based WMBA from Donn Communications in the late 90s, WMBA moved from its location at 761 Merchant Street to the Seventh Avenue location.

Since its 1948 inception, WBVP has been in varying locations along Seventh Avenue in Beaver Falls, and will mark the first time that the station will not be physically in its community of license.
