Beaver County has a new morning show

Long-time on-air personality Mike Romigh has, again, left the building for a more important role – family man! For the last year or so, Romigh has been the host of “Live Mic” weekday mornings on WBVP (1230; 99.3 W257EA Beaver Falls). Romigh’s first job was at WFEM in Ellwood City in 1981, and very soon thereafter he was at WBVP and WWKS (106.7 – now WAOB-FM). In 1985 he moved over to WMBA (owned separately at that time). His big break at KDKA began in the late 1980s and soon WKBN in Youngstown. Romigh returned to WBVP and WMBA in 2014 as program director, a positon he held for three years followed by another three at the Beaver County Humane Society. After an unsuccessful attempt to retire in 2020, he was eventually invited back to host mornings on WBVP. Although still not completely retired Romigh will spend much of his time with family now, but will continue to host the weekly “The Best of Beaver County” and do some fill-in work on occasion.

That paved the way for a new program this morning. Listeners woke up to “Driving in the Fast Lane with Frank Sparks”. General manager Sparks is hosting a townhall style program where listeners can participate in discussion 6:30 – 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Sparks promises listeners will get to say what they want to say, even if they don’t agree. News, sports, and weather will also be a part of the morning show.

With Sparks moving over to WBVP, that leaves Scott Tady as solo host of “The Beaver Morning Show” on WMBA (1460; 95.7 W239CR Ambridge) 7:00 – 10:00 a.m. weekdays. Tady will have occasional guests and news on the half-hour.
