Atkins (A.K.A. “Captain Showbiz”) diagnosed with cancer

Claude Hall reports on his January 10 post, that Ted Atkins – former WTAE-AM program director known as “Captain Showbiz” – has cancer. He quotes Atkins, “After a dramatic year-long weight loss, I’ve been diagnosed with third-stage pancreatic cancer. We all know that this type of cancer is very aggressive.” Hall reports that Atkins kept the news quiet until the WTAE Radio Reunion Dinner. He is undergoing treatments at UPMC.
Hall invites fans to send well wishes to his email address (claude -at- claudehallonline -dot- com) and he will forward the messages to Captain Showbiz.
