A little nostalgia for your Saturday…

TJ Lubinsky has been a friend to PBRTV for the better part of its 25-year existence and this morning he’s sharing with us a little piece of a “Rockumentary Film” he made back in 2001 called “The Sound of Pittsburgh”. This 6-minute segment features Jimmy Beaumont and The Skyliners and includes interviews with the late Porky Chedwick, Skyliners manager Joe Rock, and the voice of Chuck Brinkman. The clip ends with a 1960 performance of “Pennies From Heaven” on the roof at the WTAE Studios in Wilkinsburg. You can see cars in the background driving along the parkway!
