A few notes…
November 7, 2024As best as we can determine (with thanks to several observers in the region) WWCS (540 Cannonsburg) has been back on the air for a week or so. Apparently a call to Birach Broadcasting in Michigan was what was needed. Most, however, seem to agree that would be easily missed as it seems nobody is really into listening to Bethlehem, PA native, the late Brother Stair. One would think that would lead to another issue, questioning how the programming really serves the public. But that’s for another article.
Fybush is reporting Bob Stevens is bringing back the WLSW call letters to one of his new stations operated under the non-commercial Broadcast Educational Communications, Inc. The construction permit at 90.1 will soon be known as “WLSW Scottdale” which was at 103.9 when founded and owned by the late Ludwig Stanley “Stan” Wall, from whose estate Stevens bought the station. 103.9 is now WKHB-FM Uniontown. The new station is expected to air religious programming.
The PBRTV Poll/Survey thingy is now closed and I will be sharing the results with you soon. The reason I posted the not-so-very-scientific poll was to truly find out who my audience is. I had an idea… and it turns out for the most part I was right. This will help me as we go forward. Thanks to those of you who took it seriously enough to fill it out. Sorry, no prizes. Stay tuned!
It’s funny, Jay says: nothing.. 🙂
I can ask that too, a big signal, but who listens to Brother Stair? I know he had been on shortwave radio for years, decades. More recently he has been on AM radio, like WWVA 1170 Wheeling, on the overnights, and I’ve heard him on other stations coming in from distant cities at night.
I think it’s an easy option for station operators, just run Overcomer Ministries’ feed, and get paid with no complicated deals, or studio needed.
