A familiar voice fills in

If you’re listening to WDVE (102.5) on Thursday or Friday between 10A and 3P, you’ll hear a familiar voice filling in for Michelle Michaels. Cris Winter will be occupying the air chair. Winter says, “my closets are cleaned out and organized… old photos labeled, and junk drawers are de-junked, I am SO ready to be back at it!!”

Cris Winter will fill in for Michelle Michaels at her old station home, WDVE, on August 19 & 20 from 10A -3P. Her hair won’t reprise this style, however. (Photo: Cris Winter)

Winter was let go at WSHH (99.7) last year — in fact it was announced a year ago today – presumably a casualty of the pandemic. She’s had 40 years in the business, many of which she spent at DVE. Before jumping to Renda Broadcasting’s Wish 99.7 she was also at WWSW (94.5). She is still best known by her colleagues as a part of WXXP (100.7 New Kensington) in its day as a classic alternative outlet.

Winter says the return to DVE is like being at home, but she wishes she could get her hair to be “this big” again!
