88.5 Jazz FM shuts off 104.9

At 5:05 Thursday afternoon, the now former FM translator for WMCE “88.5 Jazz FM” was shut off. W285AI at 104.9 was shut off due to the upcoming sale of the translator from owner Bill Shannon to Citadel Erie for use of it with “ESPN 1260 The Score” (WRIE). This also means that the license will have to changed for commercial use. It appears that the sale will occur in the near future according to reliable sources. Note: Tom Lavery is an employee of WMCE at Mercyhurst College.
