It was great to see Perry Marshall. I am 47 now, and remember growing up in grade school through high school listening to him in the overnite hours. He was great and let me tell you it was hard to go to sleep when I was listenning to him. It was always an entertaining time. I often wondered what became of him after retirement, and if he had stayed in the area…

Thanks so much for sharing these terrific photos. How great to see Perry Marshall and Mark Roberts again.Those days and nights when radio was so much fun went by too fast!

I’ll be 44 in July and I also remember listening to Perry Marshall as well. BTW, I remember when he had a first time caller, he would drop some coins in his can.

Great book. Now I can match the faces to the voices. I spent summers in Western PA and used to listen to KDKA a lot. Great photos.

Never knew that Jim Gearhart worked in Pittsburgh. Listened to him for 10 years when I lived in NJ on NJ101.5. Liked the photo on page 56. He started G.R.I.P. in NJ which stands for “ Get Rid Of Incumbent Politicians” on his radio show so I guess he hasn’t changed much over time.

Oh Perry Marshall’s voice, like pure silk. Really glad to see him at the book signings.
I LOVE this book. I am trying to read it very slowly and absorb all of the memories and beautiful photos.

Seeing that Perry Marshall is still around made my week. I used to listen to his show when I woke up to sign on WYSS in Saegertown and he came off as such a friendly presence.
